A lil bit artsy, lets hope not fartsy

Oh NO!

In an attempt to create an online presence I have somehow managed to get myself onto this weird site "Twoo" And I also managed to email my entire gmail contact list, which has some pretty important people there... Including my DAD! And this site just seems a lil dodge... FREAKING out completely!

The Facebook trials...

Seriously, who STILL likes Facebook?!

I certainly don't.

I've still got a Facebook account but that's more because I just wanna have it there, and it plays diary for people's birthdays... But essentially, Facebook just ain't what it used to be. The constantly changing user face just pisses me off! It seems that every time I'm just beginning to accept the new look and not hate it quite so much any more they decide to change the look yet again! How the hell do they expect us to keep up?!

When I first joined Facebook back in 2008 I thought it was pretty cool with the "fun wall" and what not where your personal wall posts and status updates were on the left and all the fun wall and other stuff was on the right... Then they changed it and I hated it! It took me forever to finally get over that and then they changed again!

And now, yet AGAIN, Facebook has changed it's look. When I first saw people's profile's coming up as the timeline thing I knew it would just be a matter of time before the look was forced on me too... And it happened last week :( I logged on via my phone and poof! I got the shock of my life when I see my profile coming up as a "timeline". I didn't recall changing it myself and thought I was just losing my mind! But alas I'm still quite as sane as I've been before, darn Facebook has finally forced the change upon us all. And I am NOT happy. Yet another reason to favour Twitter.

Tumblr

So I just got a Tumblr account! Sooo excited, though I must say it isn't quite what I expected (not that I knew what to expect). "A Thousand Splendid Suns"

"A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini (author of The Kite Runner) - amazing read. I was skeptical of reading this book at first because I had watched The Kite Runner and have yet to recover from it... I guess I'm an extremely sensitive person and find it difficult to move on from things dealing with, basically in simple terms, the ill treatment of people and animals and pretty much all things evil...

So yeah, it took me a year to finally get around to reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and when I did I didn't put it down till I was done. I literally sat in bed the whole of Sunday until I completed the book and I could barely see clearly by the end of it.

Basically, it is an extremely sad, torturous and disheartening read, but its worth it. Its an absolute great read and keeps you in suspense the entire way through. And if you feel like having a good cry, I definitely recommend this book. It is also an eye opener into the world of Afghanistan (which I had previously known practically nothing about).

So if you're looking for a truly moving book to read - get your hands on "A Thousand Splendid Suns"

The torture we put ourselves through...

So I got my eyebrows and upper lips threaded today... And it was torture! My face is still sore! The thing is, I was one of those people who believed in the all natural look, however, with time I came to realize that the almost uni-brow and moushy just weren't very appealing...

So there came the time when I decided to get my eyebrows and moustache 'taken care off'. From the first time I hated the pain. I guess I just have a low threshold for pain. But the thing I noticed is that the first time you go to someone is the best you will ever get out of them, thereafter they really couldn't be bothered. I'm now on my third 'threader' and contemplating changing her too as she has become far to rough with my poor face, I've even got a scar to prove it today! And these people just keep making my eyebrows thinner and thinner each time! I hate thin eyebrows. Plus they don't even shape them properly. The last time I got my eyebrows done they screwed it up so bad I had to wait almost two months for them to grow back fully!

So why do I still do threading? Because I will not wax - no thank you very much. And I would just tweeze them myself, but I am just unable to shape my eyebrows! I've tried on numerous occasions to keep them neat as it starts to grow but I always fail... And tweezing the part of the upper lip just below the nose is just tooooo painful to handle.

*Sigh* alas I want pretty eyebrows, and a non existent moustache, so I have to pay for it... But I am still in search for the perfect threading 'artist'. Just hope I can find one...
